MISSION STATEMENT:
ASIANIA exists to pursue its aims and ideals towards promoting, developing and increasing standards in international competition, skills, technical knowledge, training, safety, friendships and better relations in the sport of parachuting and skydiving between the member countries and to provide a supportive role in promoting the values and benefits of FAI membership.
ASIANIA (ASIANIA Parachute Federation) was established in 1994:
ASIANIA is a voluntary, nonprofit sporting organization formed at a special meeting during the 22nd World Style and Accuracy Championships, by a group of experienced parachutists and leaders from Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, New Zealand, Korea and Thailand eager to pursue the development and establishment of greater quality championships and competitions in the ASIANIA (Asian and Australasian) areas.
ASIANIA Membership has increased from nine (9) to 32 countries since 1994:
Australia, Bahrain, Brunei, China, Chinese Taipei, Egypt, Hong Kong China, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Korea DPR, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Oman, Palestine, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Syria, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Yemen.
ASIANIA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS:
There have been 21 AGM’s conducted from 1995 – 2018.
Meetings are generally held in conjunction with ASIANIA Championships or a main parachuting and skydiving related international event.

ASIANIA PARACHUTING CHAMPIONSHIPS:
ASIANIA Parachuting Championships are international events with athlete participation varying from World Champion level to developing teams.
Historically conducted in conjunction with the ASIANIA member host country’s International Open event, these competitions provide a teaching and learning ground for the various skill requirements of the sport.
ASIANIA INDOOR SKYDIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS:
ASIANIA Indoor Skydiving Championships were first included in ASIANIA championships in 2018. Conducted at Chongqing, China and proving to be very popular new event in the sport attracting many new competitors.
INDOOR AND OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS EVENTS provide the opportunity for all participants to improve their competitive skills, techniques and knowledge working towards world competition, utilising experienced teams and coaches who support all experienced levels.

Over the years these events have had a positive and productive influence on everyone in the parachuting fraternity, including the Judges.
Judges can gain new skills and knowledge because there are special Judging Seminars conducted prior to all championships, which enables them to update, revalidate and maintain their currency.
Judge Training Courses carried out in conjunction with the championships have increased the numbers of judges in ASIANIA countries, plus added to the skills and precision of judging at these events.
FAI / ASIANIA Judge Training Courses:
15 Courses have been successfully conducted from 2003 – 2018
FAI / IPC support has enabled the conduction of approved FAI Judge Training Courses at China (4), Indonesia (3), Malaysia (3), Saudi Arabia (3) and UAE (2).
More than 80 members from many ASIANIA countries have participated in these courses.
ASIANIA EMAX Video Competition: 15 Competitions have been conducted to date.
ASIANIA conducts an annual Video Competition for Formation Skydiving and Canopy Formation which is conducted over a 6 (six) month period to encourage greater participation and practice in competition jumping. Originally, the video entries were sent by email or fax, now they are judged during the ASIANIA Parachuting Championships or on the internet by selected FAI judging panels.
